The back-to-school bustle has started! Teary pictures of parents dropping their kids off at college for the first time and the new adventures that await parents and kids! The first-grade picture compared to the 5th-grade picture, and oh how they have changed. I love all the photos and feelings that this time of year brings and naturally causes some reflection.
Did I take advantage of the Minnesota summer and the extended days outside… no. Did I spend enough time with the family just being versus doing…of course not. Did I jet off early a few days just to soak up some sun because winter is around the bend? Not enough!
Here is what I did do; I journaled a little more. I walked with the dogs in the morning a couple of days a week without the noise of a podcast. I planned a bit more for the rest of the year and what I wanted to accomplish. But, most importantly, I wrote these down every day. I get to go to work- I don’t have to. I get to lead a team- I don’t have to. I get to pour into others without expecting anything in return- I don’t have to.
I share this with you because each day is a chance to start again and do it a little bit better than the day before. This time of year is a great time to reflect and live in autumn a little better than you did in summer. I hope you all have an incredible start to September!
