I have always been a starter, not a finisher. I have 500 great ideas, only 10 actually get out of my head and move forward, and even those don't necessarily to the finish line! I have started diets almost every first Monday of the month of every single year for many years. I did Whole30 but only for 24 days, not 30.
As I round the bend and look towards turning 50, I thought I should really take a crack at eating better. Not for vanity or weight loss, but because my Rheumatoid Arthritis is getting worse, and my energy level was sinking. I subscribed to the 3 main food groups: sugar, carbohydrates, and alcohol, and these items will only get you so far. So I hired a functional nutritionist. I know that I have very little power to do things independently, but I am good when someone else holds me accountable.
I did an intro call and was hooked, not because I was so excited about eating protein and veggies every meal, but because I was learning about food and how your body deals with certain things and the ripple effect of what we put into it! Each week I get 45 minutes of education about how grazing all day makes you retain fat and why carbohydrates are so addictive. This education has allowed me to make better choices in what I am eating, and ironically, it is what I have said to clients for years... My job is to educate you about the mortgage and ensure that all options are understood so you can make a good decision. That is what the nutritionist is doing for me!
I share this with you all because some of you believe mortgage is a commodity, and any company will do. We have heard countless stories over the last year of clients refinancing or purchasing with other companies because they were called by the company or they already own their mortgage, so they think it will be easy. Only to get months down the road and rates have changed or what was promised is no longer available.
I am crystal clear on this… if I would not do the refinance or would not buy the next home, there is no way I will tell you to do it! This started as my journey with nutrition, but as I thought it through, the education and honest advice are why clients work with us and hopefully stay with us. If you are thinking of doing anything in real estate and just not sure it makes sense or what you should do, call us! We will take the time to explain and walk you through the options or bring up things to think about!
